The graphic was adapted from one of my existing illustrations entitled ‘Science’ inspired by the song Bleeding Again by The Animal Objective – available as a 30cm x 120cm Limited edition signed digital art print (edition of 10) in my online shop.

Original Artwork Theme: A reoccurring theme in many of my personal illustrations is that of the of The Underground Merry-go-round – A fluid, fantastical world of curious, metamorphosing lifeforms, living together in a constant state of oppression and conflict. I also use this theme within my musical project The Animal Objective where surreal and twisted stories from The Underground Merry-go-round are recounted in the form of songs. Sometimes the artworks inspire the songs and sometimes the songs inspire the artworks.

This piece illustrates a science project commissioned by the Barefaced Queen to synthesise a loyal but fearsome physical being capable of keeping the unruly common inhabitants of The Underground Merry-go-round in line. The Queen’s cruelty knows no bounds as she supplies kidnapped commoners and even some of her own loyal minions to the scientists for use as biological reaction ingredients in her ongoing quest to assert her authority.
